Job Role - Support Worker ( Supported Accommodation )
Where and when do we need you?
We are currently recruiting Support Workers for our Supported Accommodation services across the Isle of Wight. You will be supporting young people and adults who are working towards independence and preparing for their next steps in life.
Our services operate in small community-based homes. People have their own flats or rooms and shared communal spaces, and are supported to manage daily living, emotional wellbeing, education, employment and positive relationships. We offer a supportive environment where people are respected, listened to, and encouraged to take ownership of their future.
What will you be doing?
As a Support Worker with Next Wave Care Group, you will:

Build meaningful relationships using empathy, curiosity and strong communication to support young people and adults through challenges.

Promote independence by supporting daily living tasks such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, appointments and developing routine.

Provide personalised support, helping young people and adults to explore work, training, education and hobbies.

Role model positive behaviour, offering guidance, encouragement and practical problem-solving.

Work as part of a supportive professional team, contributing to support plans, risk assessments and multi-agency meetings.

Maintain high-quality records, ensuring accurate reporting and safeguarding practice.

Use trauma-informed approaches, responding to emotional and behavioural needs with understanding, patience and professional boundaries.

Support people to build confidence, self-worth and long-term independence.
Hours, and requirements

Full-time on a rota pattern (early shifts, late shifts & sleep-ins)

37.5 hours per week, including approx. 2 sleep-ins per week

Enhanced DBS required (funded by Next Wave Care Group)

Right to work in the UK required
Experience & Qualifications
Desirable but not essential – we value a positive attitude, empathy, resilience and passion over experience.

If you are new to the sector, we will support you to complete your Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care.

If you have a background in youth work, mental health, education, care or similar, we would love to hear from you.

If you have life experience and the right values, we will train you.
